Short answer
A scholarship application costs TRY 10
TRY 10 is a separate, non-refundable service fee for each scholarship application. Paying it does not guarantee a scholarship, give the applicant priority or alter the awarding institution’s criteria.
The TRY 10 information applies to scholarship applications. Conditions for development opportunities that are not scholarships are stated on their own content pages. See The Difference Between a Scholarship and a Development Opportunity.
Reason for the fee
Why is there a scholarship application fee?
When bursverenler.org was launched, every application was free. As the numbers of members and scholarship providers grew, some applicants began applying to many scholarships without reading the criteria or deciding whether the scholarship suited them. For example, applicants who did not meet a programme’s eligibility conditions applied to scholarships open only to female students, making institutions’ review work more difficult.
A symbolic service fee was therefore introduced to reduce unsuitable applications and encourage applicants to read the conditions, check their eligibility and choose scholarships that fit them.
The Kumbara model
Application fees become scholarships for young people
All scholarship application fees accumulate in Kumbara and return to young people as scholarships through the Kumbara Scholarship. The symbolic fee therefore both encourages suitable applications and creates a new source of scholarship support.
Before payment
Check your choice and eligibility
- Read all scholarship criteria.
- Confirm that you meet the age, education, department, year, city, gender and other specific conditions.
- Check that you selected the correct scholarship and that your application information is current.
- Remember that every scholarship application is a separate transaction and costs TRY 10.
- Review the scholarship name and total amount once more on the payment screen.

Refunds and wrong choices
The application service fee is non-refundable
The fee is not refunded if the applicant does not meet the criteria, asks for the application not to be evaluated, does not receive the scholarship or selected the wrong scholarship. A completed application cannot be transferred to another scholarship, and its scholarship selection cannot be changed later.
Email info@bursverenler.org and ask for your application not to be evaluated. Unless you separately request deletion of your membership, the application remains visible in the system for one year. You may submit a separate application to the correct scholarship; a new TRY 10 fee applies. See Requesting That an Application Not Be Evaluated.
Secure payment
Pay only through the official application flow
- Pay the TRY 10 fee only on application and payment screens on the bursverenler.org domain.
- Do not pay a personal IBAN or make payment through WhatsApp or a social-media message.
- Never share your password, SMS verification code, full card details or CVV in a support message.
- If a request looks suspicious, stop and read Protection from Fake Scholarship Ads and Fraud.
Problems and support
If there is a problem on the payment screen
Do not immediately start the same payment again. First check your application status and bank or card activity. Note the error message, date and time, device and page address, then email info@bursverenler.org without sharing card or password information.
Does paying guarantee a scholarship or give me priority?
No. Payment is one part of submitting the application; it does not guarantee an award or create priority in evaluation.
Can the fee be transferred if I chose the wrong scholarship?
No. The fee is non-refundable and cannot be transferred. Ask for the incorrect application not to be evaluated and submit a new application to the correct scholarship.
Is a request to pay a personal IBAN legitimate?
No. The official application service fee is collected only through the secure bursverenler.org payment flow.
I paid, but the application or notification does not appear
Check your application status and bank activity without repeating payment. If no email or SMS arrives, see Email and SMS Notification Problems; for a technical error, follow Technical Support.
