If you enjoy creating short-form video and want to use your creativity to address a social issue, the Green Crescent Reels Competition is an opportunity worth exploring.

The competition supports original short videos that raise awareness about alcohol, tobacco, substance, gambling and internet addictions and communicate effectively through social media. Participants compete in two separate age categories: 13-17 and 18-25.

Technical requirements

Videos must be no longer than 45 seconds, produced vertically, in Turkish and with Turkish subtitles. Advertising, brand or sponsor logos must not be used.

Potentially glamorising elements such as drugs or syringes should not be shown directly; metaphorical storytelling is preferred. The video must have been filmed no more than one month before submission. AI-generated films are not accepted.

What should you know before applying?

Each participant may submit only one work. The video must not have been previously published or received an award in another competition.

The video must be uploaded to YouTube as “unlisted”, and its link added to the online application form. Images, music, scripts and other materials must either be original or used with the appropriate rights. Obtaining the necessary permissions from anyone whose image or voice appears in the video is the applicant's responsibility.

Important note about the application deadline

The current timeline on the competition homepage lists 15 November 2026 as the application deadline, while the Participation Conditions page mentions 30 November. As the preliminary evaluation begins on 19 November, this page uses the 15 November date shown in the main competition timeline. We recommend checking the official website again immediately before submitting your application.

Why do we recommend this competition?

Short-form video has become a powerful way for young people to communicate ideas to large audiences. We find this competition valuable because it combines creative media production with social awareness and gives young people space to communicate messages about addiction in their own visual language.
