If you want to develop skills ranging from digital tools and artificial intelligence to entrepreneurship and sustainability, and then share what you learn with other young people, the EmpowerMe Youth Summit offers a comprehensive development and volunteering opportunity.

During the five-day in-person summit, participants choose one of five Training of Trainers tracks. Alongside the training sessions, the programme includes panels, career and communication seminars and opportunities to connect with young people from across Türkiye.

Who can apply?

Applications are open to young people aged 15-30 who live in Türkiye.

Applicants should be motivated to become volunteer project trainers, be able to dedicate regular time to the programme, have basic technology, presentation and communication skills and be willing to report the training sessions they deliver.

What happens after the summit?

EmpowerMe is more than a five-day summit. Selected participants are expected to become volunteer trainers and share what they have learned with young people in their communities.

Volunteer trainers are expected to deliver at least two training sessions each month, report their activities, help expand the training programme and work in collaboration with the project team.

Participation and expenses

The programme is completely free. For participants who attend the full programme, transportation, accommodation and meals are covered by Habitat Association.

Full-time attendance is required. Participants who complete all sessions will receive a Volunteer Trainer Certificate.

What should you know before applying?

Each applicant may select only one Training of Trainers track. Applications to more than one track are considered invalid. Each training track is limited to 30 participants, and applications are accepted from all 81 provinces of Türkiye.

Applicants who pass the first evaluation stage will be invited to an online interview. Final programme details will be shared with accepted participants by email.

Why do we recommend this programme?

Learning a skill is valuable, but teaching it to someone else can deepen that learning even further. We find the EmpowerMe Youth Summit valuable because it combines training in current skills with hands-on experience in volunteering, facilitation, communication and sharing knowledge with young people in local communities.
