Follow the programme conditions after receiving a scholarship

Once your scholarship begins, you must follow its document, notification, payment and continuation requirements on time. The current conditions of the relevant scholarship programme always apply.

Programme conditions Current documents Timely notification
First steps

Start by reading the conditions communicated to you

When your result is positive, review the programme page, scholarship regulations, emails sent by the institution and the explanations shown in your account together.

  • Check when the scholarship begins and which period it covers.
  • Review the payment schedule and the information required for payment.
  • Check whether proof of enrolment, a transcript or another verification document is required.
  • Note any renewal, reapplication, attendance, achievement or participation conditions.
  • Add document, meeting, interview or activity deadlines to your calendar.

Conditions may differ between scholarships

This page is a general guide. The relevant institution’s current programme information governs the amount, payment period, renewal, academic achievement, volunteering and document requirements.

Step by step

Track the scholarship process regularly

1

Check your account and registered contact channels

Review your bursverenler.org account, registered email address and text messages regularly.

2

Submit documents on time

Send proof of enrolment, transcripts or other requested documents through the stated channel, in the required format and by the deadline.

3

Keep your contact and payment information current

Update your phone number, email, address or payment account information and notify the institution where necessary.

4

Act before the deadline

Do not leave documents, renewals or notifications until the last day. Missing or late steps may affect continuation.

Continuation conditions

Continuation depends on the programme rules

The scholarship-providing institution may require you to maintain the conditions stated for the programme and keep your information current.

  • Continuing to hold the required student or education status
  • Meeting minimum achievement and attendance requirements where stated
  • Providing accurate, current and verifiable documents
  • Making truthful declarations throughout the application and scholarship process
  • Participating in meetings, training, volunteering or similar activities where explicitly required
  • Reporting another scholarship or support where the programme requires disclosure

Not every activity is compulsory

Volunteering, training or meeting attendance is a scholarship obligation only if it is clearly stated in the current conditions of the relevant programme.

Reporting changes

Report changes that may affect your scholarship promptly

Notify the institution or contact channel stated for the programme without delay if any of the following occurs:

  • Graduation, suspension of studies, withdrawal or loss of student status
  • A change of institution, department, programme or mode of study
  • A change in contact, address or payment information
  • A significant change in financial need
  • The start of another scholarship or support that the programme requires you to report
  • A situation that may affect achievement, attendance or another programme condition

The institution providing or administering the scholarship decides whether the change affects your scholarship. Reporting it on time helps prevent incomplete or inaccurate declarations.

Institution and donor communication

Use the communication channel stated for the programme

  • Send questions first to the institution or support channel listed on the programme page.
  • Direct contact with a donor is not part of every scholarship. Do not search for or use a donor’s contact details without guidance from the institution.
  • Direct questions about the amount, duration or continuation to the institution administering the scholarship, not directly to the donor.
  • Communicate openly, honestly and respectfully, and avoid unwanted or unnecessarily frequent messages.
  • Never share passwords, card details or verification codes by email or text message.
Duration and continuation

Continued donor support may affect a later period

The end of donor support does not have the same result in every programme. Arrangements for your current payment period and any later period are determined by the current programme conditions and the institution administering the scholarship.

There is no automatic guarantee for a later period

The start of a scholarship does not create an automatic entitlement for the next academic year or a new scholarship period. Renewal may depend on continued donor support, continued eligibility and the institution’s decision.

Half-Apple Scholarship example

Unless otherwise stated in the programme conditions, the standard Half-Apple Scholarship period is 12 months. Continuation after that period depends on continued donor support, fulfilment of the recipient’s obligations, compliance with current programme conditions and the relevant institutional decisions. Continuation is not automatic.

If the payment period or continuation of your scholarship is unclear, contact the institution administering the scholarship rather than the donor directly.

Frequently asked questions

What to know after your scholarship begins

Is my scholarship renewed automatically every year?

No. Renewal and continuation conditions differ by programme. Continued donor support, student and academic status, requested documents and the institution’s decision may be considered.

Must I report a scholarship from another institution?

Check the relevant programme conditions. Some programmes allow other support but require full disclosure; other programmes may have different rules.

Will changing my institution or department end my scholarship?

The change may affect the programme criteria. Report it promptly to the institution administering the scholarship. That institution decides on continuation under the programme conditions.

Must I participate in volunteering or events?

Only where this obligation is clearly stated in the current programme conditions. Not every scholarship requires volunteering or event participation.

What happens if the donor ends their support?

Arrangements for the current and later payment periods differ by programme. Check the payment period and conditions communicated to you and contact the institution administering the scholarship. There is no automatic guarantee for a later period.

What should I do if I cannot submit a document by the deadline?

Contact the relevant institution before the deadline and explain the situation. The institution decides whether an extension can be granted and how the scholarship may be affected.
